This January, members from all over the world gathered in the comfortable surroundings of the University of Memphis Fogelman Conference center for the 7th annual Lessac Conference. This year’s conference theme was “The Lessac Work–Our Living Legacy: Renew, Research, Reconnect.” Conference coordinators Sean Turner and Anita Jo Lenhart were our gracious hosts. Members, Practitioners, Certified Trainers, and Masters Teachers gathered from all over the world. Participants experienced an array of sessions ranging from physical theatre workshops to cutting-edge scholarly research. Ms. Sue Ann Park, Senior Master Teacher, was honored for her outstanding leadership. The annual banquet featured a presentation celebrating Arthur’s life and a slew of great stories and fond memories. Meetings of the Board of Directors and the general membership were centered on the sacred trust of carrying Arthur’s work into the future. President Laurie Mufson shared some of the new, exciting features of the Institute’s new website. It was truly a weekend of renewal, research, and reconnecting!

The 2013 annual conference will take place January 3-5, 2013 at the Beverly Garland Hotel in North Hollywood, California.
